THE CHAMPIONS BRIGADE!!!!! Ship, rinse, repeat….seems like a perfect mantra for Run Pure Sports at this point. And it was on full display this weekend, beginning with the DraftKings’ World Fantasy Basketball Championship in Nashville, TN. Huge congrats to our guys @Bigt44 @Jsurab and @Record62 for four – yes, four Top 10 finishes – include two by JSU.

It looks like they all had a nice time in Nashville as well, courtesy of weekend chauffeur and local tour guide @Kfalik. But Saturday was a new day, and continuing the #MembersNeverWin theme, @dkt took down the DraftKings $777 tournament for a cool $100,000 – congrats to him on this massive hit!

Of course, everyone knows the weekend doesn’t end until a Sunday Funday is had and JSU wasn’t done. He completed his nearly $300,000 weekend by posterizing Sweet Travis @Mangone and Big T in the DraftKings main slate $555 contest. Congrats to JSU, Big T, Rob Record, dkt and all the big weekend winners – even Sweet Travis!

BASEBALL IS BACK, BUT THE STOVE IS LUKEWARM Where did that crazy, heart arrhythmia-inducing free agent frenzy we all expected go? Baseball’s owners and the MLB Player’s Union struck a deal last Thursday, officially ending the lockout and opening the game for business. Trade activity has been steady and mid-level free agent signings have occurred, but we’re all still waiting for Freddie Freeman and Carlos Correa to land in potentially new homes and to see what the Oakland A’s latest fire sale begets. We do, though, have a clear most interesting team to watch this season, and it’s none other than the…New York Mets. Listen, growing up in Brooklyn in the 1980’s as a Mets fan, all I and my fellow Mets’ fans wanted was for the Wilpon’s to spend New York money, field a competitive team and win every year. Ironically, George Steinbrenner was spending New York money and putting one of the worst products on the field at the same time. Now Stevie Warbucks has the reins in Flushing and is giving Mets fans what they’ve always wanted – a high-priced All-Star team. Or maybe he’s just taking on all the Oakland contracts – Chris Bassitt is an absolute stud – but either way, there is once again must watch baseball in Queens.

THE NBA’S MARCH MADNESS One of the keys to winning in NBA DFS in March is simply being a slave to the game. This past Saturday night, Spurs’ coach Gregg Popovich, for no real reason, sat 60% of his starting lineup on the second leg of a home back-to-back. This, of course, creates both value and risk, especially with a mercurial coach like Popovich. Last night, just as I sat down to a tasty STK dinner, Indiana’s Rick Carlisle similarly ruled out half his roster, meaning dinner orders had to be slightly delayed. Luckily dinner was good, because some of the Pacers’ value was anything but. As evidenced by the winning lineups posted above, though, staying plugged in up to and well past lock is crucial this time of year.

THE WEEK AHEAD The week kicks off with…golf? Yes, The Player’s Championship continues with Round 4 today thanks to some unseasonable Florida weather. There are also massive NBA slates Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and the NCAA Tournament kicks into full gear with play-in games beginning Tuesday. There’s also the second iteration of the Run Pure Sports Invitational, so keep your eyes peeled for fresh content and maybe some lowlights from Millionaire Maker Court in Windler, Kentucky. Until next week – Ejecutar Puro!
