Heat @ Celtics – Game 2

Game 2

With just a game a day, I didn’t think I would put out any more NBA articles, but being 2-0-1 through the first three games, I figured I owed it to the people to give me take as long as I’m hot.

So today, Boston hosts Game 2 as a nine-point favorite. It’s an odd line, as the Heat nearly flipped the spread on the Celtics in Game 1. Miami was an eight-point dog in Game 1, but they won by seven. Miami has been tremendous in Game 1s, so while that was an easy bet, things toughen up tonight.

Only once through these playoffs has Boston lost two in a row, so while no one thinks Boston will do that at home, it’s the nine points that make things tricky. However, in every game Boston has won in these playoffs; they have also covered the spread. So while it seems crazy, there is no reason to bet Miami at the spread if you think Boston is going to win outright.

Player props typically aren’t my strong suit, but since the Conference Finals began, I’m 3-0, so I’ll drop two more for the people.

While Jayson Tatum has been a disappointment in these playoffs, he can put all that to rest if he comes alive in this series. Game 7 against Philly showed he still has it, but he has to find it here. The Celtics can’t go to Miami trailing 0-2, so the Heat will make Tatum beat them, and he should be up for the challenge.

Looking at the Miami side for a prop, I like Bam Adebayo.

A crazy stat from Game 1, no one had ten rebounds. Jaylen Brown led the way with nine. There was one double-double as Marcus Smart had 11 assists and 13 points, but everyone was taking care of business, so there were so few assists and rebounds.

Bam had eight rebounds in Game 1, and now for ten games in a row, he has recorded 8+ rebounds. However, the juice is too much on his rebound prop (-145), so there is another way to approach these stats.

My only concern with this play is if the shooting continues as it is, there won’t be enough opportunities for Bam, but things should cool down.
