Glock’s NFL Lineup Review | Week 6

What is up everybody! This is a new article we are introducing this year which will review my main GPP/Single Entry team that I played over the weekend. I’ll do my best to explain why I played who I played, what I would have changed, and the results that came with it. The aim is to have this released every Tuesday and the hope is that the article can help provide you some valuable insight which can help improve your process when playing NFL DFS.

I always like writing review type of articles too since it forces me to be self-critical about my play and helps improves my process in turn. I definitely recommend reviewing your lineups after every weekend as well, I can guarantee it will make you a better player.

If you are familiar with my NBA Year In Review article from last year, I am not a high stakes player whatsoever and tend to play SE contests which are at the $100 price point and under. Whether you are a high stakes or low stakes player, you should be able to take tidbits and apply it to all levels of play. For the purposes of this article, I’ll be reviewing the ownership from the $50 NFL $250K Red Zone [$50K to 1st, Single Entry] contest. Lets dive in!

I knew my day was over pretty quick as a majority of my lineup was from the 1PM EST window as well as Justin Fields going down with injury. Granted he didn’t look great before the injury either. Regardless, lets break down my thoughts behind each play this past weekend:

Justin Fields – If I knew Fields was going to be this owned, I definitely would not have played him as well as his correlated pieces which we’ll talk about below. Most sites had him projected under 10% owned and I thought LAR/ARI, CIN/SEA, CAR/MIA would be the game environments garnering more attention not CHI/MIN

Raheem Mostert – Like Achane last week, Mostert flip flopped into being my #1 priority play this week despite being chalk. I wasn’t playing any MIA pass catchers due to my stack so Mostert was my vehicle into that game environment

Chuba Hubbard – Never like correlating RB vs RB but Hubbard was cheap enough to where I was fine with it. Felt like he was going to be in a nice script for trailing dump offs as well

DJ Moore – Projected 5-6% owned on some sites but got mega-steamed similar to Fields. Thought I was being somewhat sneaky here but post-lock I was definitely regretting it

Jordan Addison – Clear run back option for me for my CHI stack. No Justin Jefferson, big spot for Addison to step up as a talented rookie

Josh Downs – Debated Robert Woods or Josh Downs here. Felt like IND/JAX was a better game environment, and I liked that Minshew was behind center

Cole Kmet – I thought most would single-stack Fields so I went for a double here in an effort to be more unique. Generally if Kmet is slate breaking, that is coming with touchdowns through Fields. Kmet + Moore were by far my 2 favorite pass catchers to correlate with Fields

Ja’Marr Chase – Really encouraged from what I saw from Chase last week but the game environment really faltered here. Was my favorite spend up PP$

Lions DST – Very high on the Lions DST this year and not so high on Baker Mayfield and TB so the choice was easy here. DST was my last in piece where I had 2800$ to pick any defense

Not a good week whatsoever but we’ll chalk it up to injury to my main stack. I definitely read ownership wrong this week and like I mentioned above, if I knew Chicago stacks were going to be that owned, I probably would’ve played a Joe Burrow stack instead (which wouldn’t have gone well either). What’s funny is this team is one I’ve felt most confident in all season but obviously it did not end well.

That just shows you how volatile NFL DFS can be. Either way, we move onto Week 7 where I’ll look to improve to 3-4 when it comes to cash-rate!
