Glock’s NFL Lineup Review | Week 18

What is up everybody! This is a new article we are introducing this year which will review my main GPP/Single Entry team that I played over the weekend. I’ll do my best to explain why I played who I played, what I would have changed, and the results that came with it. The aim is to have this released every Tuesday and the hope is that the article can help provide you some valuable insight which can help improve your process when playing NFL DFS.

I always like writing review type of articles too since it forces me to be self-critical about my play and helps improves my process in turn. I definitely recommend reviewing your lineups after every weekend as well, I can guarantee it will make you a better player.

If you are familiar with my NBA Year In Review article from last year, I am not a high stakes player whatsoever and tend to play SE contests which are at the $100 price point and under. Whether you are a high stakes or low stakes player, you should be able to take tidbits and apply it to all levels of play. For the purposes of this article, I’ll be reviewing the ownership from the $50 NFL $200K Red Zone [$25K to 1st, Single Entry] contest. Lets dive in!

Jalen Hurts – In my head, Hurts was a low owned option with massive upside as PHI had to win in order to try and claim the NFC East. Unfortunately they needed a DAL loss as well and since DAL took an early lead, PHI elected to take their foot off the pursuit of that 2 seed

Jordan Mason – SF rest week and there was coach speak about Mason leading the backfield. That made sense to me as CMC has somewhat been banged up so I thought SF would keep the workload light on Eli Mitchell which would lead to mega usage for Mason. I was wrong there as Mitchell led the backfield in a 52/44 split

Pierre Strong – Like SF, CLE was also resting this week leading the way for Pierre Strong to get majority of the work in theory. For some reason Jerome Ford still played 36% of snaps eating in Strong’s usage

CeeDee Lamb – Easy spend up option as DAL had everything to play for against a horrible WAS defense. One of the only things I got right this week

AJ Brown – Since I was playing Hurts, AJB was my contrarian pivot to Justin Jefferson who was projecting as chalk with Mullins and CeeDee Lamb. Thought Hurts + AJB had massive upside potential and if somehow Mullens was unable to get the ball to Jefferson, it would create huge leverage

Richie James – Had Christian Kirk here before he was ruled inactive. Was in love with my other pieces so figured I would take a shot on a Chiefs 3K WR

Johnny Mundt – The chemistry with Mullens was very apparent to me so didn’t mind clicking on Mundt this week. Would have preferred Goedert but didn’t want to downgrade any other piece

Tony Pollard – Was not planning to play Dak who was projecting as chalk so opted to play Tony Pollard for leverage. My hopes was that CeeDee and Pollard vultured as much production from Dak as possible who were in a great spot

Chargers DST – Didn’t really have much of a take this week on DST except for that the Chargers made sense against Blaine Gabbert who I don’t think is very good at all

Well well well, Week 18 was a disaster for me but it definitely is always is a week that is always hard to predict and comes with a lot of variance. I unfortunately galaxy brained the wrong way as Mullens + Jefferson chalk completely smashed. I felt very dead before my games even tipped off but overall, I probably would have played the lineup again if I could. Hurts + AJB was literally unowned and I was able to play the double stud build I love so much with Lamb + AJB. Lamb + Jefferson was the chalk WR combo with a cheap 3K WR so I wanted to try and keep that same construction, but find lower owned pivots around it.

It definitely did not work this time but in the long term, I have confidence that it will. I had a lot of fun writing this article each and every week so I hope that you did as well and learned something from it. Now lets enjoy the playoffs and we’ll talk next year!
