MATCHUP SUMMARY

The late scratch of Calvin Ridley was surprising last week and it sounds like he will be away from the team for a while. Matt Ryan passed for a season-low 146 yards in the loss to Carolina. It looked like Russell Gage would see an uptick in usage without Ridley but he didn’t even register 1 air yard in the game. Tajae Sharpe caught 5 of 6 targets for 58 yards to lead the team. Mike Davis and Cordarrelle Patterson each saw 9 carries and both had 5 catches in the passing game. The Saints have the 2nd best rush defense and both look to be easy fades this week. Kyle Pitts was off back-to-back 100+ yard games and 25+ fantasy point performances but busted hard as a popular option at the position. Pitts was only able to record 2 catches for 13 yards off 6 targets.

The Saints come off a big win vs the defending Super Bowl Champs last week. The Saints intercepted Tom Brady late in the 4th as they were driving down for the winning field goal. Jameis Winston suffered a torn ACL in the game and Taysom Hill was also unavailable leading to Trevor Siemian to fill in. Taysom Hill is expected to clear concussion protocol and be active for week 9. 5 different pass catchers recorded 3 catches for the Saints and it looks tough to decipher who the main target is outside of Alvin Kamara. Tampa Bay has a very strong rush defense and Alvin Kamara was held to only 61 yards on 19 carries. The matchup vs the 31st ranked rush defense in the Falcons presents a smash spot for Kamara as he should be heavily leaned on with the QB situation.

With only a 42 point total this game doesn’t present much fantasy goodness here. The Falcons continue to struggle and now travel to one of the toughest places to play. The Saints have been beatable through the air this year. The only Falcons I would look to target would be Kyle Pitts and maybe Tajae Sharpe for a GPP value play. The Falcons have given up 26+ fantasy points to the RB position in the last 4 games. This presents a great opportunity for Alvin Kamara at only $8,200.

THE DFS GEMS

Alvin Kamara, NO – $8,200 on DraftKings. Kamara looks to be in a smash spot here vs the poor Falcons rush defense.

Taysom Hill, NO – $5,500 on DraftKings. Hill is mispriced here and should be a popular target with his rushing upside.

Kyle Pitts, ATL – $5,900 on DraftKings. If the Falcons can make this a game, Pitts will be a key focal point.
