MATCHUP SUMMARY

The Atlanta Falcons (2-3) are fresh off a bye week and look to build on their 27-20 win over the New York Jets in London two weeks ago. QB Matt Ryan passed for 342 yards and two touchdowns. RB Cordarrelle Patterson continued his early season surge with 7 catches and 114 total yards from scrimmage. After disappointing fantasy owners the previous four weeks, rookie TE Kyle Pitts broke out with career-highs in receptions (9), rec. yards (119) and had his first NFL touchdown. Calvin Ridley has been steady so far this season but has yet to have that ceiling game. He has 27 receptions on 42 targets through the first four games. This offense should be setup for a big game this week in Miami where the Dolphins rank near the bottom of the league in defense.

After winning their season opener in New England 17-16, Miami has now lost five games in a row after their disappointing 23-20 loss to Jacksonville in London last week. Despite the tough loss, QB Tua Tagovailoa returned from injury and was very impressive completing 33-47 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns. TE Mike Gesicki had 8 catches for a career-high 115 yards. Rookie WR Jaylen Waddle caught 10 passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns. The Falcons also rank near the bottom of the league defensively and I expect this game to have “sneaky” shootout potential.

THE DFS GEMS

Calvin Ridley, ATL – $6,600 on DraftKings. Ridley is just way too cheap this week in a game where the Falcons should see plenty of scoring opportunities. He has multiple touchdown upside and should get his first 100-yard receiving game of the year.

Mike Gesicki, MIA – $4,700 on DraftKings. While some may go to Kyle Pitts on the other side (he is priced up to $5,900), I will side with the cheaper Gesicki in this matchup. He is coming off a big week and see him carrying over the momentum this week against a bad Falcons defense.
