MATCHUP SUMMARY
The Falcons shuttle down to Tampa Bay and look every bit deserving of the 13.5 point dog foisted on them by Vegas. In getting dismantled by the Eagles last week, Arthur Smith’s group looked completely unprepared. The offensive line was…offensive, unable to provide Matt Ryan enough time to collect the snap let alone find receiving targets. The total is dropping and I don’t think it’s an overreaction to believe that this is likely to be a slow, one-sided affair favoring the Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers outlasted Dak Prescott and the Cowboys to begin their defense of the Lombardi Trophy on opening night. While that was a thrilling game, they have now had an extra three days to get ready for a Falcons team that has major weaknesses along the offensive line and secondary. Mike Evans is my favorite Buccaneer play and may be my only play from this game given the volatility of Bruce Arians’ rushing corps.
THE DFS GEMS
MIKE EVANS, TB – $6100 on DraftKings. Evans was the odd man out in the offensive fun against the Cowboys. Tom Brady always makes sure his guys never stay out of the spotlight too long, though, and I expect Evans to capitalize on plenty of targets in this soft matchup.
