Eastbourne International Best Bets – McDonald & Paul

The semi-finals of the Eastbourne International will kick off in the morning, with Cerundolo and McDonald opening things up. So, here are the bets you need to lock in before you go to bed so you can wake up to some extra dough in your account.

Francisco Cerundolo has yet to drop a set in this tournament. Historically he doesn’t fare well on grass, but he is feeling it this year. Should he continue to cruise through this tournament, he’ll be a stud to watch when Wimbledon kicks off.

McDonald has a perfect .500 record on the green stuff. Things have become progressively more challenging for him in this tournament. He took his first match in straight sets and had a gnarly upset in the second round, knocking off Taylor Fritz in two sets with 28 tie-break points. Things should have been easier in the quarter-finals, but he needed three sets to advance.

It’s understandable why Cerundolo is the favorite, but given what we have seen from McDonald in this tournament, there is no reason to bail on him now.

Gregoire Barrere V. Tommy Paul

Playing for the right to take on McDonald in the finals is Gregoire Barrere and Tommy Paul. By ATP rankings, Paul is the best remaining player in the tournament. While a top twenty player should destroy this tournament, he has shown weakness at several points.

Paul fares well on soft courts, especially for an American, but his play in this tournament needs to improve. Luckily for him, Barrere will not be as challenging as JJ Wolf. So he should cruise through this round, but he’ll be put to the test against McDonald.

Tommy Paul -3.5 (+105)
