MATCHUP SUMMARY

After a promising start to the season, a road win in Atlanta in week one, the Philadelphia Eagles (2-5) have now dropped five of their last six games after their 33-22 loss in Las Vegas. Jalen Hurts has struggled leading this offense with any consistency but does offer some fantasy appeal week in and week out. Last week he completed 18 of 34 for 236 yards and two touchdowns. With Zack Ertz now gone, Dallas Goeddert should see more and more targets in this offense on a weekly basis. Starting running back Miles Sanders left last week’s game with a with a low-ankle sprain. If he is unable to go this week, look for Kenneth Gainwell to be a nice value play this week who should see more touches. Rookie WR DeVonta Smith is looking to find chemistry with Hurts and it could come this week against a Lions secondary that just got carved up by Cooper Kupp.

The Detroit Lions (0-7), nearly pulled off a huge upset on the road last week but ended up falling late to the Los Angeles Rams 28-19. Jared Goff had a solid game in his return to Los Angeles completing 22 of 36 passes for 268 yards and a touchdown. Kalif Raymond led the way receiving with 6 catches for 115 yards. D’Andre Swift continues to excel in these “trailing” game scripts as he compiled 144 total yards from scrimmage and a touchdown. Tight End TJ Hockenson should be in line for a big game here against a Eagles defense that just allowed 18 DK points to unknown Foster Moreau last week.

THE DFS GEMS

DeVonta Smith, PHI – $5,500 on DraftKings. I like the matchup, I like the price tag. Potential breakout game here.

Kenneth Gainwell, PHI – $5,000 on DraftKings. If Sanders sits he is an easy plug and play if you need value with some upside.

T.J.Hockenson, DET – $5,400 on DraftKings. If spending up this week at TE, I like Hockenson in a great matchup against this Eagles defense.
