MATCHUP SUMMARY
The Philadelphia Eagles (5-6) are riding high after their 40-29 home win over New Orleans last week and have now won three of their last four games. The Eagles offense has been the difference during this four-game stretch as they have averaged over 34 points per game. Jalen Hurts threw for only 147 yards last week but rushed 18 times for 69 yards and 3 touchdowns. Rookie DeVonta Smith has really started to connect with Hurts the last 3 weeks as he has compiled 18 receptions for 243 yards and three touchdowns during that stretch. This week both Hurts and Smith will make for excellent fantasy options against the Giants 25th ranked defense (DVOA). Running back Miles Sanders returned from injury last week and was very effective rushing 16 times for 94 yards. If you need a nice tight end play Dallas Goeddert looks like a fine option as well especially without the likes of Travis Kelce, Darren Waller and Marc Andrews on this slate.
The New York Giants (3-7) are coming off a terrible showing on Monday night in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers losing 30-10 and have now lost four of their last six games. Now they get to go home on a short week and have to prepare for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense. In the loss on Monday night, Daniel Jones really struggled completing only 23 of 38 passes for just 167 yards and one touchdown. The Giants did welcome back the return of running back Saquon Barkley and while the game script was not in his favor he still accumulated 12 DK points. He is listed as questionable but as long as he is able to go I think he gets more opportunities here in this matchup this week.
THE DFS GEMS
Jalen Hurts, PHI – $7,300 on DraftKings. Hurts has proven to be a nice fantasy option this year and always has that running upside as he showed last week with three touchdowns on the ground.
Miles Sanders, PHI – $5,100 on DraftKings. Looked good in his return last week and has a nice cheap price tag this week.
Saquon Barkley, NYG – $6,300 on DraftKings. Looked ok in his return from a four-week absence but the Giants were in a negative game script to run the ball last week. I look for more work for Saquon here this week.
