MATCHUP SUMMARY
After a 4-11-1 season a year ago, it’s all uphill for Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles. Hurts is a dual-threat quarterback who averaged double-digit rush attempts in the games he started last season. He’ll be working behind a competent offensive line led by 4x Pro Bowl center Jason Kelce. Hurts gets a familiar face to target this season in the Alabama speedster DeVonta Smith. Smith is a week one boom-bust target at just $4,500 on DraftKings. This Eagles offense will be volatile in daily fantasy formats as target share projects to be spread out among the backs and receiving options.
Matt Ryan enters his 14th season with the Atlanta Falcons and looks to improve on a 4-12 record a year ago. With Julio Jones gone, Calvin Ridley moves into a WR1 role and will demand a high amount of target share. With Jones often being a decoy late last season, we saw double digit target upside for Ridley each week. Matt Ryan and the Falcons acquired a monster target in Kyle Pitts. The John Mackey Award winner stands at 6’6 and put-up video game like numbers at Florida. Pitts projects to thrive in Dave Ragone’s system and is an elite week one daily fantasy target at just $4,500 on DraftKings.
THE DFS GEMS
Kyle Pitts – $4,500 on DraftKings. Expect Pitts to see many targets early and often on this Falcons offense. He is much too cheap on DraftKings.
Calvin Ridley – $7,900 on DraftKings. With Julio Jones gone, it’s the Calvin Ridley show in Atlanta, and he isn’t going to disappoint. Elite tournament option on DraftKings.
DeVonta Smith – $4,500 on DraftKings. I expect a few bombs down the field from Jalen Hurts to Eagles newly acquired speedster. I expect a lot of offense here in the Mercedes Benz Stadium and Smith is a key piece to use in stacks
