MATCHUP SUMMARY

Denver comes off their first loss of the season to the Baltimore Ravens last week. The team really struggled once Teddy Bridgewater was forced out of the game due to a concussion. Drew Lock was 12 of 21 for 113 yards and 1 INT with a QBR of 52.3. We need to keep an eye on this situation with Bridgewater as Denver would get downgrade with Lock at QB. Noah Fant led the Broncos in receptions, catching 6 of his 10 targets for 46 yards and a touchdown. Courtland Sutton caught 3 of his 8 targets for 47 yards. The Broncos didn’t run the ball much but had success when they did as both Melvin Gordon and Javonte Williams averaged over 6 yards a carry and split carries 9 to 7.

The Steelers are coming off their 3rd straight loss after upsetting Buffalo in Week 1. The Steelers have struggled to generate much offense with a bad offensive line and a QB that is at the end of his career. Roethlisberger completed 38 of 58 passes, but looking at next-gen stats only 6 of those were over 10 yards as he can’t push the ball down the field. Diontae Johnson was back this week and saw 13 targets, catching 9 of them for 92 yards and a touchdown. Najee Harris hasn’t had much success on the ground this year but continues to see solid work in the passing game catching 6 of his 7 targets.

I look for the Denver Broncos to bounce back this week vs this struggling Steelers team. Denver has a strong defense that will be able to pressure the struggling Roethlisberger into some tough decisions and potential mistakes. If Drew Lock ends up starting this could be a very ugly game for fantasy purposes and most likely a complete game fade.

THE DFS GEMS

Diontae Johnson, PIT – $6,500 on DraftKings. Johnson has double-digit targets in every game played this season and is off back-to-back 9 catch games.

Noah Fant, DEN – $4,900 on DraftKings. Fant has been the preferred target for the Broncos this season and has scored 12+ DK points in 3 of 4 games this season.
