The Tigers host the Pirates after a devastating New Year’s Day loss to Tulane.

Penny Hardaway and the Tigers have been flirting with relevancy all season long, but every time they start to roll, they suffer an embarrassing L. They hoped to keep pace with Houston this year, but a loss to the Green Wave is undoubtedly a step back.

As they continue conference play, they will need to start winning by double digits if they want a chance at a ranking. Aside from their game with Houston, they have an easy schedule for the remainder of the season; they need to pull it together if they want to be ready come March.

As for the Pirates, they enters play a respectable 10-6, but with conference play underway, they will be a punching bag in the AAC. The Pirates will be lucky to find five wins in their remaining 15 games.

The Tigers should have no trouble winning this game, but the Pirates always play them tough (-14.5) is too many points, and ECU should cover.

The Rebels head to Starkville to take on the Bulldogs in a Mississippi classic.

This is one of the SEC’s tightest rivalries; neither team swept the season series in over five years. Both teams sit at the bottom of the South East with no conference wins; luckily, that’ll change for one of these teams today.

Mississippi State thought they had something going this year, opening the season undefeated with eleven wins. However, after an humiliating loss to Drake, they had to follow up that game with two top-ten teams in Alabama and Tennessee. The Bulldogs lost both games by double digits.

Coincidently, Ole Miss is also coming off losses to the Crimson Tide and Volunteers, but worse than that, they have lost six of their last eight.

In an odd trend in this rivalry, the winner has covered in the last ten matchups. So taking Mississippi State, there shouldn’t be any fear of them not covering. As a nice insurance, if they lose this game, bettors can double down on them to win on February 18th.

Mississippi State -5 (-110)
