Duke @ Georgia Tech

After suffering a terrible loss in Blacksburg, the Blue Devils head down to Georgia to take on the Yellow Jackets.

It has been a disappointing season for Jon Scheyer and the Devils. Duke is 5-4 in conference play and fall in the middle of the pack; despite that, they are still ranked 25th in the Coaches Poll. Given the recruiting class Scheyer inherited, Duke wanted to be fighting for the conference. Hopefully, they will put it together before the tournament, but the outlook isn’t great for this team.

Only Louisville holds up Georgia Tech from the bottom of the ACC; the Jackets are 1-9 in ACC play and 8-12 overall. This team is far from what they once were, and Georgia Tech has turned into a punching bag for the rest of the conference. They are 1-8 in their last nine and 2-7 at the spread.

While Duke is not meeting expectations, they should have no problem stomping out the Yellow Jackets today.

Miami @ Pitt

The Miami Hurricanes are another teams that is surpassing to see in the rankings. They are exceeding expectations this season, but they have been playing .500 ball of late. They lost in both trips to North Carolina, and they didn’t even have to play the Tar Heels. Worse than that was the loss they suffered when they went to Georgia Tech. However, coming off a win against the Seminoles, they are hoping they are back on track as they take on the Panthers.

Pittsburgh is having a tremendous season, and a win today would bounce them up to second in the ACC.

The Panthers are chasing Clemson in the standings, a team they lost to by one earlier in the month, but having their only conference Ls come from Florida State, Clemson and Duke, they can still make a run at the title. They have a long way to go before the ACC tournament, but they will be front-runners when it comes around.

Today’s game is a pick em’, and given how both teams are playing, I don’t know how anyone could lay money on the Hurricanes. Miami has been sloppy, and an edge has to be given to the home team.

Pitt -1 (-110)
Over 148.5 (-110)
