MATCHUP SUMMARY

Easily the game of the week and one with the 2nd highest total of the week. The Chiefs arrive riding an 8 game win streak. More so on their minds will be posting the best record in the AFC to get that precious bye. Win out and they will be rewarded with a wild card weekend off. The Bengals will be looking to clinch their division and secure an easier opponent in the wild card weekend.

If you wish to be different this week then simply fade this game. It will likely be a huge power move to fade or one that will leave you with little to no chance to cash if it goes off. Personally I feel you need to go all in on it or fade. I don’t feel picking and choosing 1-2 players from the game to succeed will pan out. In addition the ownerships should be fairly high. In order to gain any ownership edges you will need to commit a healthy portion of your lineups to get 2x the field on several players.

If your looking for points I think the best scenario is for the Chiefs to jump out early with a two touchdown lead. The best way to attack the Chiefs is on the ground. I expect the Bengals to do this early with Joe Mixon. In addition I expect them to try to control the clock keeping Pat Mahomes off the field. This is obviously the preferred and best solution for the Bengals.

If the above doesn’t happen it could be a long day for Joe Burrow and the Bengals. The Chiefs do a good job rushing the passer and the job should be easier as the offensive line for the Bengals isn’t the strong part of this team. A heavy rush could force Burrow into mistakes, something he is still prone to. Turnovers from the Bengals need to be limited to 0-1 as you don’t want to put more pressure on the defense.

I don’t expect Clyde Edward Helaire to play leaving the ground game in the hands of Darrel Williams and Derrick Gore. The good news for Mahomes is he has a full compliment of wideouts to target. I expect him to spread it around with Tracis Kelce and Tyreek Hill being the biggest benefactors. My only concern with either one is do Hardman, Pringle, Gordon along with Bell and Gray take away from their upside. I don’t see this Bengals defense slowing down the Chiefs who offensively are on a roll.

THE DFS GEMS

Pat Mahomes, Chiefs- $7,800. Patrick has been phenomenal on the road this year. In six games he has scored between 28-39 fantasy points in five. I know I mentioned above not going in on just 1-2 players from this game but if I were Mahomes would be my choice. I don’t mind a naked Mahomes at all.

Travis Kelce, Chiefs- $7,300. The price is steep for a boom or bust player. Kelce has either been involved with the offense or used as a decoy. He needs 25+ points, something he has only achieved 3 times this season. The Bengals struggle against TE’s and I expect him to be a focal piece.

Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals- $7,600 He could end up on the lower side of ownership from this game. Many will go with Hill or Kelce while looking at Higgins and Boyd from the Bengals to save salary. Chase has huge upside being the deep threat.
