MATCHUP SUMMARY
The 7-1 Cardinals head into Santa Clara needing to overcome a rash of injuries. On the offensive side of the ball, neither Kyler Murray nor DeAndre Hopkins practiced this week and A.J. Green remains on the COVID IR. I’d be surprised if either Murray or Hopkins played. Defensively, they returned Chandler Jones last week but immediately lost J.J. Watt for the season. When fully healthy, it has been challenging to target this Arizona team because they spread the ball around and have multiple weapons. Now, with backup Colt McCoy likely starting and missing Hopkins, Arizona looks like a full fade.
The Niners will get George Kittle back this week (until his next injury) and Elijah Mitchell looks to be active after an early week Questionable tag. Kittle’s return could cut into Deebo Samuel’s weekly double-digit target count, and Samuel is priced at his season high-point ($7800 DraftKings). Brandon Aiyuk seems to be crawling out of Shanahan’s doghouse and did see 7 targets last week; for large field tournaments, he is in play. Jimmy Garoppolo responded with his best game in three years after being called out by Kyle Shanahan and remains below $6000 on DraftKings. Garoppolo and crew will come with fairly low ownership this week as well.
THE DFS GEMS
ELIJAH MITCHELL, SF – $5800 on DraftKings. Underpriced for his volume behind one of the best run-blocking schemes in the NFL. My only concern is San Francisco backs have been extremely fragile.
DEEBO SAMUEL, SF – $7800 on DraftKings. The return of George Kittle is a potential inhibitor to the ceiling for Deebo but he has been the clear #1 target.
RONDALE MOORE, ARI – $4200 on DraftKings. Moore could be called upon for additional touches and targets considering the offensive injuries.
