MATCHUP SUMMARY
Cleveland hasn’t been tested since blowing up in week 1 vs the Chiefs. They are coming off wins vs the Texans and Bears and now face a tougher test on the road vs the Vikings. Cleveland enters the game with 2 RBs averaging 5.5 yards per carry or better and finally got OBJ back last week. Beckham looked good in his return catching 5 balls for 77 yards. Hunt is surprisingly the teams leading receiver and has looked great on the ground as well averaging 5.7 yards per carry on 29 attempts. Nick Chubb is one the best pure runners in the league but hasn’t been used much averaging just 16 attempts per game. Baker Mayfield is completing nearly 74% of his passes and has a 102.1 QBR through 3 weeks.
The Vikings are a team some say could be 3-0 but were on the wrong side of variance losing 2 close games to begin the season. Dalvin Cook is a major question heading into this week after missing last week’s game and needs to be monitored. Adam Thielen has been the team’s main red zone threat catching 4 touchdowns in the first 3 games. Justin Jefferson has scored in back-to-back weeks catching 9 passes for 118 yards last week. Alexander Mattison showed he is fully capable of filling in for Cook as he rushed for 112 yards on 26 carries and caught 6 passes for 59 yards. Kirk Cousins has been under the radar great to open the season. He is averaging 306 yards passing and has a QBR of 118.3. He has done a great job of protecting the ball having 0 INTs and has 8 touchdowns.
I expect this to be one of the higher scoring games of the week and I will be looking to stack it up. I will once again look to target this Vikings passing attack as we know most targets will be between Jefferson and Thielen. The Vikings have had trouble stopping the run and I look for Nick Chubb to have a solid outing here.
THE DFS GEMS
Kirk Cousins, MIN – $6,400 on DraftKings. Great price tag on Cousins here in a high total game. He has been great to begin this season scoring 25+ DK points in all 3 games.
Adam Thielen, MIN – $6,800 on DraftKings. Thielen has been the main red zone threat and the Vikings not having Irv Smith has only boosted that. I love the price tag under 7K in this spot.
Justin Jefferson, MIN – $7,300 on DraftKings. Jefferson is averaging 10 targets a game to begin the season and has found the box in the past 2 games. I like stacking 1 or both of these WRs with Cousins this week.
Nick Chubb, CLE – $7,000 on DraftKings. Chubb had 22 carries last week double of what he had vs the Texans. This is a great price tag on a guy that I think should be in the 8K range. The Vikings have been getable on the ground and I think Chubb finds the box this weekend.
