MATCHUP SUMMARY
The New England Patriots (5-4) stayed red hot last week with an impressive 24-6 road win in Carolina. The Patriots have now now won three games in a row outscoring their opponents 105-43 during that stretch. Mac Jones became only the 3rd rookie QB ever to win his first 4 road starts. Damien Harris has been the team’s lead running back this year and has 547 yards (9th in the NFL) and 7 touchdowns through 9 games but he may not be available this week. He sustained a head injury last week that forced him out of that game and is going through the NFL’s concussion protocol. If he is unable to play that would elevate Brandon Bolden and provide us with a potential value play at only $4,400.Â
In their first game since releasing Odell Beckham Jr., the Browns dominated the Bengals last week in Cincinnati 41-16. Nick Chubb, who was a very popular fantasy play last week, didn’t disappoint with 137 yards rushing and two touchdowns. The bad news is that on Tuesday, Chubb tested positive for COVID-19 but will be able to return after two straight negative tests so there is still a chance he can suit up this week. If he is unable to go that could open up another value play in D’Ernest Johnson at $4,700.
THE DFS GEMS
Brandon Bolden, NEP – $4,400 on DraftKings. If Harris is ruled out, he would make for a nice value play at this cheap price tag.
Hunter Henry, NEP – $4,100 on DraftKings. He has made the most of his targets this year and has touchdowns in five of his last six games.
D’Ernest Johnson, CLE – $4,700 on DraftKings. Similar to Bolden if Chubb is unavailable, Johnson will be a nice value play here.
