MATCHUP SUMMARY

Denver arrives coming off a solid win against the Giants due to a strong defense and Teddy Bridgewater leading the way offensively. The Broncos did lose Jerry Juedy who led the team in targets. This should help the Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick and KJ Hamler who all saw 2-4 targets. Problem though is determining who gets the uptick in targets if any of the three as Noah Fant could absorb a few himself. Fant tied with Juedy earning 8 targets. Melvin Gordon is viable for touchdowns but his yardage basically came from one run.

The hopes were high for the Jags heading into the season but early season injuries, a shaky Trevor Lawrence and a coach who possibly doesn’t have his heart in the game has put a damper on them early. The Texans outplayed them in all aspects and now Lawrence is up against a much better defense. James Robinson will likely struggle against the strong Broncos defense. Lawrence will probably be airing out the ball again  putting DJ Shark, Laviska Chenault, Marvin Jones and James O’Shaughnessy in play.

I expect Denver to get out early and control this game with their defense. The Broncos offense should be able to run the ball keeping Teddy Bridgewater in check fantasy wise. Denver could have plenty of short field opportunities limiting their overall yardage. Javonte Williams appears he will be taking carries away from Gordon making both touchdown only viable unless a long run is broke. If you feel Lawrence can put together any sustainable drives the wideouts should be in play. Keep in mind though, no different than the Broncos determining who earns the targets is tough since the four listed above all saw 8+ last week.

THE DFS GEMS

Noah Fant, Broncos – $4,200 on DraftKings. Noah should see some red zone opportunities along with a potential uptick ion targets. The price for his upside is juicy.

Denver Broncos Defense – $3,800 on DraftKings. I am not a fan of overpaying on defense. With that said the upside at a fair price for turnovers, touchdowns and low point total is live for the Broncos.

DJ Chark, Jaguars – $5,600 on DraftKings. I feel many will go for the cheaper Jags wideouts. DJ was obviously the main target for Lawrence despite the poor pass completion percentage between the two.
