MATCHUP SUMMARY

The Bengals have been a bit of a roller-coaster team to begin the season as they looked good in the week 1 matchup vs the Vikings. In week 2 they struggled for most of the game before scoring 2 late touchdowns in the 4th quarter. Ja’Marr Chase got loose again for a 42-yard touchdown. It will be tough to gauge which of the 3 WRs will see the most volume from week to week, but Chase has shown that homerun threat in back-to-back weeks to begin the season. It was great to see Joe Mixon have 20+ touches for the 2nd straight week and looks to be the bell cow here in Cincy. A big problem that the Bengals need to address is the fact that Burrow was sacked 4 times vs the Bears bringing his season total to 9 already. If they want to have any success this year they need to keep him healthy.

After a great week 1 win at Buffalo, the Steelers took a step back vs the Raiders being outplayed from the first whistle. The Steelers averaged less than 3 yards per carry on the ground vs LV. Diontae Johnson’s 9 catches off of 12 targets were the only bright spot in their offense this week. Unfortunately, Diontae was injured on the final play of the game and will miss some time. Smith-Schuster, Claypool, and Washington will be counted on to pick up for the loss. Najee Harris saw good work in the passing game catching all 5 targets for 43 yards and a touchdown. Ben Roethlisberger is two games into the season and already dealing with an injury to his pec.

I expect this divisional game to be a slower, less attractive game for fantasy purposes. And I would only be looking at some one-offs from this game to throw in other game stacks you have going. The injuries are starting to mount up for the Steelers and another guy to keep an eye on is TJ Watt who could play this week after missing last week’s contest. Watt could do damage vs this weak Bengals line if active.

THE DFS GEMS

Najee Harris, PITT – $6,600 on DraftKings. Harris would be my preferred target on the Steelers offense and should continue to see an uptick in pass game usage especially if Johnson misses time.

Ja’Marr Chase, CIN – $5,400 on DraftKings. I want to continue to target Chase as long as he stays in this low 5K range as I feel he will be priced up closer to the high 6Ks to low 7Ks by mid-season.
