MATCHUP SUMMARY
The Ravens have now lost 3 straight games and have gone from having the #1 seed, to on the brink of missing the playoffs. The 3 losses have come by a combined 4 points as they are 0-2 in two-point conversions. Cincy got the best of the Ravens in their first matchup this season winning 41-17 and now they play for the division lead Sunday. The Ravens defense most notably the secondary is a shell of itself after injuries and now Covid. Tyler Huntley filled in for the injured Lamar Jackson last week and excelled, scoring 4 touchdowns. Huntley passed for 215 yards and 2 touchdowns while adding in 73 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. Lamar once again did not practice on Wednesday, and we need to monitor this news and the week progresses. Mark Andrews has been Huntley’s favorite target in his starts and targeted him 13 times last week. Andrews has 21 catches the last 2 weeks playing with Huntley and is a great option once again this week. Hollywood Brown caught 10 passes last week but only averaged 4.3 yards per catch. Murray and Freeman split carries 7 and 6 last week and are GPP targets at best this week.
Cincy was able to stop a 2-game losing streak beating the Denver Broncos last week in Denver 15-10. This was an ugly game from a stats standpoint as Burrow passed for only 157 yards and Joe Mixon rushed for 58 yards. Tyler Boyd led the team with 5 catches for 96 yards and a touchdown. Boyd scored the go-ahead touchdown, a 56-yard touchdown pass late in the 3rd quarter to take the 15-10 led. Burrow threw for 416 yards and 3 touchdowns in the first matchup with the Ravens. Ja’Marr Chase totaled 201 yards on 8 catches, highlighted by an 82-yard touchdown in the 2nd half. Tee Higgins caught 7 of 15 targets for 62 yards in the matchup. The Bengals should once again have success through the air vs this beat-up secondary.
These divisional battles are often lower scoring and I expect these two teams to trade body blows early in this game. Both offenses can be explosive and if there are a couple of big plays the flood gates could open up. I look for the Ravens to try and control the clock and keep their defense off the field as much as possible. We need to keep an eye on Lamar Jackson’s status and other Covid news as the week progresses.
THE DFS GEMS
Mark Andrews, BAL – $7,000 on DraftKings. Andrews is priced up but continues to be the focal point of this offense.
Tyler Huntley/Lamar Jackson, BAL – $6,000/6,900 on DraftKings. Both QB’s are priced under 7K and are both great options for GPPs depending on who starts.
Joe Burrow, CIN – $5,900 on DraftKings. Great price tag here on Burrow in a flop lag spot.
Ja’Marr Chase, CIN – $7,100 on DraftKings. Big play threat in this offense and scored 37 points in the first meeting.
