MATCHUP SUMMARY
Kyle Shanahan leads his 49ers into gleaming, warm, cozy SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles having beaten the Cowboys in Dallas and Packers in Lambeau in very impressive road wins. Finally fully healthy, this 49ers team has an impressive array of weapons on the offensive side of the ball and a chaotic, aggressive defense. Jimmy Garoppolo has been little more than a game manager in the playoffs, albeit an effective one, only throwing a combined 44 times for 303 yards and no touchdowns in San Francisco’s two wins. The Rams uncharacteristically got savaged on the ground by Leonard Fournette last week and you can expect the 49ers to deploy a heavy ground game plan once again. Realistically, the 49ers we want the most exposure to are Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk, and Elijah Mitchell. Jauan Jennings hasn’t done much in the playoffs; yet, he’s $2200 and plays 60% of snaps every game. He should be in your player pools.
With a win, the Rams would become only the second team to play in the Super Bowl in their home stadium, and in consecutive years! Wins have been hard to come by for Sean McVay and the Rams against San Francisco, however, with their last coming in 2018. The 49ers, up until last week’s game in frigid Green Bay, have been stout against opposing ground games. Matthew Stafford will have to have a huge game to get the Rams onto the SoFi Stadium field again next week. Stafford, Cooper Kupp and Tyler Higbee are reasonable building blocks with Van Jefferson and Odell Beckham, Jr. mixed in. I’m at least thinking about fading the Rams’ running game altogether.
My expectation is the 49ers will use the tandem of Mitchell and Deebo on the ground to dominate possession. Most of my scripts will predict Los Angeles having to chase and featuring Stafford/Kupp/Higbee. I’ll also prioritize Van Jefferson over Odell Beckham, Jr. The 49ers D/ST is fine to include in your pool at just $4K on DraftKings.

DEEBO SAMUEL $15K – The rushing upside in a projected heavy ground game makes him one of the top plays in this game.
MATTHEW STAFFORD $16.2K – Stafford is the top projected player in the game and will play a large role in a close game and/or Los Angeles win.
COOPER KUPP $18.3K – Kupp is projected slightly higher than Deebo but the price tag makes me think he’s a better Flex play here.
ROBBIE GOULD $5.7K – Gould at Captain lets you build a lineup with all the best offensive weapons.
