MATCHUP SUMMARY

The San Francisco 49’ers are coming off a big road win and 41 point outburst in week 1 in Detroit but it came at a big cost. They lost starting running back Raheem Mostert after just two carries to a season-ending knee injury. Eli Mitchell filled in nicely for Mostert rushing for 104 yards and a touchdown. Deebo Samuel was the star of the game with 9 receptions for 189 yards and a touchdown. Can he keep the momentum going this week in Philadelphia or will other guys like George Kittle or Brandon Aiyuk get loose for a big game.

The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off an impressive road win in Atlanta 32-6. They were led by Jalen Hurts who had a solid all around game going 27-35 for 264 yards and 3 touchdowns. Running Back Miles Sanders was limited in practice this week and is listed as questionable. Rookie wide receiver DeVonta Smith had an excellent debut last week finishing with 6 catches for 71 yards and a touchdown. He makes for a fine play again this week. Jalen Reagor also had a good week 1 hauling in all 6 of his targets for 49 yards and a touchdown.

THE DFS GEMS

George Kittle, SF – $6,400 on DraftKings. The star tight end was fairly quiet in the opener seeing only 5 targets, catching 4 of them for 78 yards. With the injury to Raheem Mostert in the backfield I look for Jimmy G to utilize Kittle much more this week. He should see plenty of targets in this matchup.

Jalen Hurts, PHI, $6,500 on DraftKings. Like I mentioned above, Hurts was impressive in the opener and now goes home to face a San Francisco team that gave up 430 yards of total offense to Detroit last week. While I don’t think this 49’ers defense is that bad I do think Hurts should see plenty of opportunities here to have back to back nice games.

DeVonta Smith, PHI – $5,400 on DraftKings. The dynamic rookie wide receiver from Alabama quickly hooked up with Jalen Hurts in the first quarter last week catching his first NFL touchdown. The two looked liked they had a nice connection all day and would assume Smith would be in line for similar targets and looks again this week.
