MATCHUP SUMMARY
The 49ers head to the desert hamstrung by injuries at every position. Jimmy Garoppolo has been ruled out and George Kittle is now listed as doubtful; this game that looked to be a juicy target for DFS has now lost considerable luster. With Garoppolo out, Trey Lance will make his first NFL start. He looked good in his debut against Seattle last week, but now faces a tough task on the road against Arizona potentially missing Kittle and with a diminished running back corps.
The Garoppolo and Kittle news vaults the Arizona D/ST to the top of my board at that position for just $2900 on DraftKings. Chase Edmonds is listed as a game-time decision here. If he sits, James Conner becomes a very interesting play in a game the Cardinals should control throughout. Now likely lacking high scoring, close game upside it’s harder to be interested in Kyler Murray at his price, but I do expect a DeAndre Hopkins bounceback.
THE DFS GEMS
ARIZONA D/ST, ARI – $2900 on DraftKings. Arizona’s playmaking defense is bargain-priced for a matchup with a rookie QB missing multiple key weapons.
DeANDRE HOPKINS, ARI – $7600 on DraftKings. Banged up in the early going he could have his way against the depleted 49ers secondary.
BRANDON AIYUK, SF – $4500 on DraftKings. If the Cardinals look to lock up primary target Deebo Samuel there will be additional targets available for Aiyuk who is priced at a discount for the opportunity.
